Blue Collar Training Network, LLC (BCTN) was started in 2015 as a way to bridge the gap for departments needing more training. The overall goal of BCTN is to bring fire service information to departments in order to build their cadre of instructors and help develop their fire fighting skills. Our foundational belief is that skill is developed through hands-on, practical evolutions. Our instructors are highly-motivated firefighters who are devoted to giving back to the fire service.

INSTRUCTORS
Jeff Hakola - Owner/CEO
Jeff Hakola is currently serving as a Firefighter assigned to Truck Company 51 for the City of Merced Fire Department, where he has been employed since 2006. Jeff began his fire service career in 1993 as a Fire Explorer with Orange County Fire in Irvine, California, and served in that capacity until being hired in 1998, when he was hired as a Paid Call Firefighter in the City of El Toro where he worked his way up thru the ranks to Station Captain, prior to getting hired by the City of Merced. Concurrently, since 2013, Jeff also serves as a Relief Fire Captain for the Twain Harte Fire District in Twain Harte, California.
Beginning in 2011, Jeff began as a Southern California Big Rig Instructor; in 2012, Jeff has been instructing at: Southern California Auto Extrication, Fresno Training
Symposium (Forcible Entry, Live Fire, and Commercial Vehicle Extrication), andthe Utah Fire Academy (Auto Extrication); and beginning in 2013, he has been an IAFF Fire Ground Survival Instructor and a Hurst/Paratech Rescue Specialist. Additionally, he has been certified by the California OSFM to instruct: AutoExtrication; River and Flood Water Rescue; Firefighter Survival; RIC Operations;Trench Rescue; Confined Space Awareness; Alternative Fuels Vehicles; Fire Control 3A, 3B; Rescue Systems 3; and Confined Space Operations (T). From 2008-2013, Jeff was the President of the Central Valley Officers Association and currently serves on the IFSTA Rewrite Committee for Auto Extrication. Jeff is in the final stages of completing his A.S. Degree in Fire Technology.
